-----Whatever is unnamed, undepicted in images, whatever is omitted from biography, censored in a collection of letters, whatever is misnamed as something else, made difficult to-come-by, whatever is buried in the memory by collapse of meaning under an inadequate or lying language-this will become, not merely unspoken, but unspeakable.------Adrienne Rich
sisters annie & alma boden
After enlarging this picture, which belonged to Alma Boden(on the right), I discovered the heart etched on Annie (on the left) in the photo. Annie died in 1915 and Alma died in 1918. They both died very young. Alma Boden Bremer and her husband Charles Bremer died during the the flu epidemic of 1918. My grandfather, William T Bremer, was only 6 years old when his parents died.
